Mike's lead, slide, bass and vocal skills help put the icing on the Bluez57 cake. He spent over 20 years with the Good News Garage Band, an eclectic Christian blues / rock band out of Sedalia, Mo. In his 30 plus year career, Mike has gotten around. He has played with bands or gone solo in Ariz., Ark., Australia, Calif., Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Ks., Mo., Minn., the Phillipines, Va., Wa., and aboard a Navy LPH somewhere between Africa and Austrailia. Mike's influences: Hendrix, Santana, Duane & Dickie, SRV, and too many others to mention. Mike says;"This is one of the most talented groups I have ever been associated with. Everybody is really laying it down vocally and instrumentally. The result is really going to turn some heads."
Rick’sbackground is in classical and jazz music, but gets a
kick out of playing rock and, of course, blues. Rick attended Penn Valley Comm.
College where he played in a jazz ensemble. From there he went to KU, then attended the Conservatory at UMKC. Where he obtained his Bachelor of
Music degree. Shortly after Rick met guitarist Joey Walsh he began performing
with The Hollywood Extras. Rick was also one of the original members of the KC super group The Allied Saints. After leaving "The Saints", Rick worked
briefly with a blues band called The Hypnotics. Rick soon found that Bluez57
is a much different blues band that includes a wide variety of tunes in their repertoire,
and he’s enjoying the new experience. Rick states; “We are still in our
inception as a group, but already it shows great promise for the future. The
caliber of musicians in this group will ensure its success. We look forward to
seeing you around the area as we continue to develop. Thank you for visiting
our site, and keep in touch! PEACE.”
